I mentioned this on another site so I thought I would just copy and paste it here:
I was drunk last night, very drunk.
A car sped past me very fast and I fell unconcious from the momentary sensory-overload. This never happened before, when I was sober, but alcohol plays with the sense. I thought to myself, and established that it was simply the noise of the car that had caused it. If only the world was quiter....
!
Could a hearing aid that makes everything quiter solve this problem. The guy in There Something About Mary had earmuffs, but they block out sound completely: I needed something that would sounds quieter or 'softer'. A Hearing aid that does the complete opposite of what it's supposed to do for both ears would be ideal and would work ok with younger Autistics if you could get them to wear the damn things. Any thoughts?
