I have been looking into chelation - removing heavy metals.
I am wondering if others here have done this or may consider it.

I've ordered PCA-Rx (chelation spray) for my son to try. We will start it very slowly. I may try it myself.

For the last 2 weeks he has been so much better (calm, alert, doing more, content). :) The latest thing we had added a few weeks ago was the Spectrum Complete from Kirkman's.

Pardon my ignorance...but what exactly is "chelation"?

Chelation: Removing metals (such as mercury) from the body.

Here is a web page that may help:

"Some autistic children have a weakened ability to protect themselves from toxic metals in their bodies, a biochemist at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences has concluded.

Such children have a severe deficiency of glutathione, the body's most important tool for detoxifying and excreting heavy metals such as mercury and lead, Dr. Jill James reports in a peer-reviewed study published this month in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition."

Hi Autmom
Did you try the PCA-Rx chelation spray? Considered this as a parent recommended on another site. How'd it work out? Quite a few months ago I bought the Lil Magnetic clay, but only tried a couple times, then I got a email from my DAN recommending it! So gonna do it only a weekly basis and see what happens?? Already did the hair toxic test so I can see if it really works when I do the follow up test. I got my clay bath(more like a slurry than actual mud) from www.evenbetternow.com - site compares all the chelation methods- price and effectiveness :) .

Yes, we tried the PCA-Rx 3 separate times. Each time, constipation set in after about a week. The last time was only 1 spray every 3 days. It could be that it detoxes my son too fast for his system to handle.

He seems to do pretty well on Lipoceutical Glutathione. Hopefully that is helping his system detox.

I just sent in a hair elements test, so hopefully that will tell me something.

Keep us posted on the clay!

Constipation is a problem here too, tried everything than when the CSA test came, asked DAN how do I get sample - she recommended Senna - works like a charm! Will do on the clay - off tommorrow - will start! Tried Reduced L-Glutathione on myself than him - quite painful. This Lipoceutical Glutathione is a cream?

Lipoceutical Glutathione is a liquid taken orally. Its fairly new and its a more absorbable form.

Please be careful with chelation...a child recently died from this treatment and it was being done by a doctor trained in this therapy.
