Hi! I am Kyle'sMom. My son was diagnosed with autism at 19 months. He is now 2 yrs & 2 months. He has been casein free since his diagnosis in August, and we just took him off all gluten about 4 days ago. We have high hopes for Kyle and are involved in OT, ST, and DT. We will begin ABA in a few weeks. We are still "newbies" as we are trying to find out all we can. We noticed a complete change in Kyle shortly after his 1st birthday. He totally regressed....(i.e. - stopped babbling, clapping, waving, etc) and started shreaking, rocking, jumping, hand flapping, etc. Our doctor thinks that he has pinpointed the MMR as the culprit, but we aren't really set on finding a cause or placing blame. Our main focus is to seek out resources and to get advice from other who have "been there." I am a mental health therapist, and am just grateful that in my training I had been exposed to workshops and trainings on autism. I believe that this helped my husband & I detect signs so early with Kyle. Well, enough babbling for now. I'm sure I will have many questions for you all......
