hey there
exactly how old is your son/daugher? I use to have problem with my son swallowing pills too, but now that he's a lot older, I just tell him that the doctor said he needs to take them so that he can get better. So pills the 5mg or 10 mg he actually takes without water, he just gotten use to taking them. Also ask the doctor for the chewable ones. If it's liquid go to the pharamcy that mixes it with a special flavoring, so times it cost more ,but sometimes it worth the extra cost as long it as more goes in his mouth than one the floor or on his shirt. I hope this helps

Go to www.kirkmanlabs.com. They have a host of ideas on how to get meds down. I just used liquids until my daughter was old enough to understand how to swallow (age 9).

Currently I am having to crush medication and disolve it in juice. I haven't actually tried getting my 8y/o to swallow anything yet but I'm guessing it's going to be a battle. I'm just not sure how to explain to him HOW to swallow it without chewing, etc. I'll have to check that link out, thanks!

Hi Carrie,
Try putting the pill in some jelly on a spoon. Worked good for me!
I can't take the credit for this. It's actually the method my mom used when I was a child.
