I know nobody's been coming by lately but I'll post in hopes that a few of you real people (as opposed to spammers) lurk in and out:
I'm curious as to what prescription medications you have tried with your child, what behaviors they targeted, and what the effects were.
We've tried Ritalin for focus and it created a horrible ammount of anxiety issues that were never present before (hypersensitivity to sound and all kinds of new fears) and a HUGE increase in tantrum behavior.
Then we went to Tenex which is actually a blood pressure medication. That has worked ok (for focus) but it seems to have created tics. Soooooo, next apt I think I'm going to ask for another med change.
I have a friend with a son who's behavior problems (aggression and attention) have only been helped with schizophrenia medications. So really I'm just curious as to what's out there and wether medication really works....
