Hello again,
I have found some info. on my son's sensitivity to noise problem and someone suggested getting him started with a Therapeutic Listening program. Has anyone ever tried it and if so, did it help any. Just curious.
Thanks
Jim

My daughter did some listening therapy when she was about 8, through the listening centre in Toronto. We went for a week, everyday for about 6 hours where see listened to sounds and music and swung in a swing. After that maybe one month later we did the program at home maybe 1 hour a day, with tapes they supplied. I believe it did help but at the time not very noticeable.
We did alot when she was very young, now she is 14. We also did AND a patterning individual program 1-2 hours/ day. This also worked on her sensory system.
She has been on a diet, no milk no sugar, no grain for about 5 years. Her sensory system is less of a problem I think.Maybe they just grow out of it?
I found she is a bit of a brat and has been playing the disable card for along time. Well now I am not such a weenie parent and she helps out. Mostly I tell her what I expect, and point, and she tries to perform.

I can't be of much help but I thought I'd throw out there that my son's sensitivity to noise became hypervigilant after I started him on Ritalin. EVERYTHING freaked him out - things that he was never bothered by before such as the washing machine, dishwasher, lawn mowers, any kind of fan...anything!!! Since taking him off the Ritalin he has slowly gone back to his normal tolerance levels (which are still abnormal but much more workable).
