My nephew is 3 years old. I'm concerned that he might have autism? The first thing I noticed was that he would curl his hands in sometimes, mostly when he is excited or afraid. He moves them around infront of him really fast. He is very smart and know is colors, abc's and can even read letters. He loves to throw things and even when he is told NO or put in time out he gets right back up and does it again and again. He will repeat what you say and will tell you that he hit someone but still does it. It is like he know it but it just does not click that he should not be doing it. He will play with other kids if they come up to him to play but he will not go play with them. He loves to stack blocks and he does it by color. He does not like for anyone to help him. I want to catch this early if he does have signs? Are these signs? And if so who do we go to to get him disgnose?

His concerned Aunt.

Sounds like some of the signs are there. My son did some of those things like sorting and stacking and flicking his fingers in front of his face....and also is smart about certain things like numbers, letters, etc. Does he have a doctor? If the doctor can't diagnose it, he/she can refer you to a place that can.
