My son absolutely will not take any kind of medicine or vitamin unless I can hide it in something. I was just wondering if anyone could suggest a good liquid multivitamin supplement that would be easy to hide in his orange juice or something. I worry about his diet due to the fact that he subsists on french fries and grilled cheese and cheerios. The only time I can get him to eat meat is to give him fish sticks and occasionally we can bribe him to eat chicken nuggets. If someone could help me out here and point me in the direction of a website where I could order it I would reallly appreciate it. Thanks!

Today I ordered "Super Nu-Thera® Liquid with P5P Lemon-Lime flavored" and "Kirkman Calcium-Magnesium Liquid with Vitamin D". Both from kirkman labs. They seem to be things I can easily hide in his orange juice. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with the super nu-thera? I've used the calcium before.

My daughter took Super Nu-Thera for four years. We weaned her off last year and put her on a multi-vitamin, multi-mineral from GNC, as we found we had reached maximum improvement with it. It really helped to bring out her speech.
Have you tried the gluten-free, casein(dairy) free diet? I know you may think, he eats so little now, what will he eat? But, there are tons of options, and I found that using the diet w/ my daughter really helped her to explore new foods. She's now weaned off of the diet and eating better. If you want to see what kinds of foods are available, go to www.missroben.com and do the "free of" search, checking off gluten, dairy and wheat. There are lots of options.

We had my son on the gfcf diet for over a year but had to take him off because we got stationed in Germany and it was really difficult to find foods either in the commissary or on the economy. For one thing it is difficult to read labels in German if you do not read or speak German. We had wonderful results with the diet and are actually contemplating trying it again when we get back to the states. He actually ate more of a variety of foods on the diet than he does now. I can't get him to eat any kind of fruit or veggies and he won't eat a multivitamin so I'm hoping the SNT will help get him what he needs. I also replaced his chocolate milk with chocolate instant breakfast with dinner.

Why not try soy milk? It's dairy free, has a lot less sugar than instant breakfast, comes in chocolate, and is readily available. I like Silk Soy the best - in fact, our whole family drinks it now, instead of cow's milk.

He has a weird reaction to soy. When we were searching for alternatives to milk on the gfcf diet the first thing we went for was soy. He gets really hyper and bounces off the walls. It also makes his aggression worse. We tried rice milk next and he wouldn't touch it. The one we found that kids seem to like the best is Darifree. I liked that it came in powdered form and I could make like three, two liter pitchers of it with one carton. We took him off of it though cause the expense of having to order it off the internet was just too much. He now drinks whole lactaid milk that I mix the instant breakfast up in. Since he isn't on the diet anymore I just try to find alternatives that have less of what I want him to have in it. He actually prefers the chocolate instant breakfast to hershey's. It's way more nutritious than Hershey's and a fraction of the price of pediasure so that is what i go with.
