Hi my son is 2 1/2 and is currently being evaluated. He does not have the usuall signs and chartisic of a normal Autism child. He had fully developed on time with communication, speek, movement, etc. However he is beginning to show signs of mild seizures, fits of anger, and wanting to go to areas of our home to hide when he gets mad. I wasnt sure if this was an onset to Autistic Syndrome? It is like one minute he is loving, affectionate and interacting well, to fits of anger and mild seizures and wanting to be left alone. I had an EEG done and was told of a slight abnormality but nothing convinceing at this point. We are planning a MRI next week to see if anything else appears. Any advice, to help me I would greatly appreicate.

Thanks

My son stops what he is doing and rubs his hands together agressively, with a strainging look on his face and he also makes a mumbling noise while doing this. He is doing this up to 70 times a day, they may last from 3 seconds up to 10 seconds. Without loss of consciness. If there is anyone who has any ideas please let me know?
Thanks

Could he be doing this when frustrated?

No he does it when he wakes up, during play time, reading a book, eating the only time I havent seen him do it is during his sleep. Doesn't seem to matter what or where he is when he does it.

I'm no expert, but my guess would be a seizure type activity or a stim of some kind. Does he seem to enjoy, dislike, or just have no control over this?

He has no control I dont think his know that he does it. Though sometime he gets mad after a spell, if you ask him if he is ok.

Ok, I'm leaning toward seizure of some kind. There are many different kinds.

Does he get mad when you ask him questions at other times. My son does not tolerate a lot of questions even now that he's older.

Well not really but sometimes its hard to tell, because he is 2. I really appreciate you talking with me. His doctor is going to try therapy to seeing if it helps him before they will medicate him. She said it may be a tic, however I am leaning towards seizures too. But dont want to miss anything so I can get him the best help as soon as possible. ( no matter what it is tic, seizures, austim)
