Good Evening,
I have a 3yr old son that I have secretly worried that he may have some slight autism or ADD. I am really not sure. I have 2 daughters and I have always just said maybe it is just the boy/girl difference. But today his daycare teacher told me she has wondered about autism also which floored me because I have never mentioned anything to them about my concerns, it seems that in the past month she said he has actually regressed instead of progressed and she is concerned about him moving to a different class at this point. Which kind of freaked me out. Some of the things I have worried about are tantrums, problems focusing, problems with his routine being altered, obsession with certain toys, verbal skills/vocabulary hard to understand alot of times, these are just a few of the things I can think of. I had him tested at a County center last year for what I thought might have been hearing problems at the time. His mental IQ was fine along with his hearing but his social living skills were way below normal. I would think that autism would have been something they looked at but I am not sure. What is the best way to seek help, I am not sure if we even need it. Thank you for any advice.
