Hi, I'm Dannene, mom to Zachary, 3, who is somewhere on the spectrum. He was completely non-verbal when he was diagnosed in October. He started school in January when he turned 3 and now he attempts to talk but his only successful consonants are Da and Na so everything sounds like it has those sounds in it! He is good at saying "I nt (want) donut" though! My biggest issues are he squeals constantly and his inability to produce any different sounds. I'm trying a new ST starting this week so I hope she is more successful than all the others. I had him allergy tested 2 weeks ago to see if he had any food sensitivities and he has none. He also doesn't do any inappropriate stimming other than the annoying squealing. His attention span seems like it has gotten realllllly short lately. He used to watch baby einstein videos for an hour and now I can barely get him to sit for 2 seconds. Does anyone have any success with medication for a child this young? Anyway, nice to meet you all!

Hi Dannene
Which food allergy test did you do? Apparently the pin prick one is no good, I've tried the one(I forget the name?)where you hold a copper? rod and it's tested over the computer(not sure how accurate?)and just recently did the IgG 90 food sensitivity test(most accurate!), still waiting for results. If you still don't find allergies you may want to try the hair analysis to check for toxins - first hair analysis for my son showed high aluminium - just found out - an indicator for possible hidden mercury in body! Waiting on another hair analysis done thru more reliable lab, will see if similar. Try different tapes, maybe he's just bored with the baby einstein videos...they get bored of stuff too. Most of my son's stims went away after implementing things like nutrition and supplements....still has some though.
