I was just told that my son is severly autistic but I have suspected it for over a year now....

Can anyone please give me pointers,advice and etc????
I would appricate it if you can.

I wish I could talk to someone face to face and ask all kinds of questions but I know NO one with Autistic kids.

My son is 13. Where do you live? (state/country) Do use a direct messenger? like Yahoo messenger or MSN Messenger? I'd be willing to chat. I also belong to a MSN group for families with autism where there is a chat room. We could arrange a chat time on there.

Messaging boards are a great way to get support and learn! That is where I started and still am.
It is hard because there are so many emotions going around. First of all you are the best advocate for your child and you know him best! Have you been to see a Neurologist? They should have some reasources to share. Search the Internet, read books, "Facing Autism" by Lynn Hamilton, talk with your childs therapists, see what kind of resources your state/ county has. It is hard because there is no one spot you can go to find answers.
