Hello everyone.
I've just joined the site and glad to find all the information available. My three year old son, who's called Jamie (you've probably already guessed that from my user name!) was diagnosed in January after a long drawn out process with doctors, health visitors and pedeatricians. Thank goodness that part of it is over, at least. I pity anyone trying to get a diagnosis - it's often not easy at all.
Anyway, I'm 26 years old and married to Jay who's a musician. I'm training to be a primary school teacher. We live in the south coast of England. I would welcome hearing from anyone with autistic children so we can share tips etc. I worry that Jamie's not learning enough. He never plays much, except with water. He;s not really interested in his cars or trains anymore, even though he used to play with them religiously. Now he just spends his time at the sink tipping water from a toy teapot. I guess that's better than nothing.
Hope to chat to people soon.
