My son has several symptoms as i posted in another thread. I just forgot to ask about this one.
He is almost 3 and has had speech delay and had started to say more words in the last couple of months. The thing is he does speak words at home, normally ok, but when he's out he clams up and wont speak. But the thing i have noticed what he does a lot is when he's out and has to speak he either whispers his words , if not then he speaks in a very high pitched voice. Has anyone got any ideas about this.

My son has AS which means his speech development (ability to speak in some situation) was "within normal range" but even so with new people, awkward situation, clams up. 18 now, mind you. Does it less. Has more control. Still does it.

We got a new pastor, six months later, he started to talk to the man. I told our pastor, hey! feel honored! it took (my son) four years to talk to the last one! :D

Unusual tones of voice. yep!

Whispers? Not unusual.
