We are looking for a specialist in autism to help us plan the care for our son. We have done our homework and found Dr. Bradstreet in Fla. We have read alot of good information about him and his team. But because of Gov't privicy rules he can not get us in contact with other parents. So we are asking for parents who have had children under his care to give us their side of the story so we can make sure this is the Doctor for us. Thanks for any help and I wish all parents with special children our understanding and and support as we take this day by day.\

You may also want to try the yahoo groups if you haven't. There is an Autism-Mercury, and a chelatingkids2 group where they've discussed different doctors.

Hi. I'm a sibling of an autistic child. We saw Dr. Bradstreet/Dr. Kartzinel. They then put my sister on a GFCF diet (gluten free caesin free) diet. She cannot have wheat, milk products, soy, you name she can't have it. Everything must be homemade. The diet has helped her healthwise, seeing as how Dr. K diagnosed her with a 'leaky gut'. She has been on the diet for about 5 years and has not cheated once. Its a tough diet to follow, but the results are well-worth it. My mom orders special mixes to make at home. My family has found Miss Robens (MissRobens.com ?) to be of extreme help. They provide mixes like chocolate chip muffins, cake, etc etc. When we have spagehitti (spell check?) she eats rice noodles with sauce. My mom usually prepares two sets of meals (one for the rest of the family and one for her). We have now started to let her eat the greasy McDonalds fries which she loves tremendously. Hope this helps.
